President Greg Rudani and members of the Carbine Club of Papua New Guinea have contributed towards the Cricket PNG Lewas Player Placement program by sponsoring Tanya Ruma and Naoani Vare, who flew out Tuesday 22/11/22, to Brisbane Australia to train and play with the Western Suburb’s District Cricket Club in the Queensland Premier Cricket Competition.

Kumul Petroleum PNG Lewas
After returning from both the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers and the Pacific Cup tournament, the Lewas have returned to training. There is a big focus on improving fitness during this training block, with strength and conditioning coach Otto Wrakonei recently conducting fitness testing.

players perform, the format has been changed for the last two games. Instead of the normal 50 overs per
side, we are now playing 70 overs per side with one day rules.
Lewas win Pacific Cup
The Kumul Petroleum Lewas were crowned as the inaugural winners of the Pacific Cup in Vanuatu yesterday. They went through the round robin event against Samoa, Fiji and Vanuatu undefeated winning 5 games only denied a sixth victory after rain washed out the last game with the Lewas firmly in command.
Lewas Prepare for World Cup Qualifiers
The Kumul Petroleum Lewas are currently in Abu Dhabi preparing for their ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers beginning 18th of September. They have drawn Zimbabwe in their opening match followed by pool games against the UAE and Thailand.
Dighton Impressed with Barras
Former Australian cricketer, Michael Dighton, has been supporting the Kumul Petroleum Barramundis as a specialist coach through funding from the PacificAus Sports Initiative. Dighton arrived last week and will be predominately working with the Barras batting group throughout the ICC CWCL2 tournament.
Barras Tie 1st ODI with USA
The Kumul Petroleum PNG Barramundis were involved in a thrilling first match of the CWCL2 series at Amini Park on Sunday, finishing tied with the USA. The large crowd were on the edge of their seats as the Barras inched towards their target in fading light only to lose their last wicket on the penultimate ball leaving the scores level.
International Cricket Returns to Amini Park
The Kumul Petroleum PNG Barramundis will be back in action at Amini Park this Sunday as international cricket returns to PNG. Cricket PNG are hosting USA and Namibia as part of the ICC CWCL2 series, a pathway event to the next ICC One Day International World Cup in 2023.

Barras Return from Top End T20
The Kumul Petroleum PNG Barramundis returned home this week after competing in their inaugural CDU Top End T20 hosted in Darwin by Northern Territory Cricket. The Cricket Australia co-sanctioned event included a Cricket Australia XI, Big Bash League (BBL) sides the Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades as well as the Northern Territory state team.
Brian Bell Village World Cup Female Under 15 Tournament Ends in a Super Over Victory to NZ in Oro
Chants of “Oro Oro” welcomed Cricket PNG to Popondetta at the latest Brian Bell Village World Cup Female Under 15 Series, supported by the NZ High Commission on Wednesday May 18. The tournament was supported strongly by Robin Dogia and his entire Popondetta Cricket Association Committee, along with other volunteers and supporters from the region, embracing the first time this tournament has been run in Oro. Students from Igora Primary School, Resurrection Primary School, Hohorita Primary School, Popondetta Primary School and Popondetta Secondary School enjoyed the day representing Australia, Bangladesh, West Indies, England, India and New Zealand.
Panamex PNG Wins PGK 20,000 Trukai VPL
Panamex PNG won the Trukai VPL Final at Amini Park on Sunday May 15 by 274 runs over Koita Warriors. Panamex PNG after struggling in week 1, turned into knockout cricket experts, first beating Northern Alexanders in their Quarterfinal, before defeating the favoured and previously unbeaten Gamoga Lawyers Spirit of Rigo off the last ball in their Semifinal.
Brian Bell Village World Cup Regional Female Under 15 Series a Success in Lae
The Brian Bell Village World Cup Female Under 15 Series, supported by the NZ High Commission continued its journey around PNG with the fourth event held in Lae on Wednesday May 11. Four teams made up of students from Taraka Primary School, AOG Christian Academy, Haikoast Primary School, Omili Primary School and St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School represented England, West Indies, Bangladesh and PNG.
Cricket PNG and BSP Bank Announce Extension of BSP School Kriket Program
Cricket PNG, together with BSP Bank, announced that BSP Bank will continue to sponsor the BSP School Kriket Program, now into its thirteenth year. The sponsorship includes funding staff, including training, and ensuring equipment is provided to the regions so young children can participate in cricket for the first time.
