Kumul Petroleum PNG Lewas

After returning from both the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers and the Pacific Cup tournament, the Lewas have returned to training. There is a big focus on improving fitness during this training block, with strength and conditioning coach Otto Wrakonei recently conducting fitness testing.

The squad has been training in specialist groups, working on areas of their games that were identified as areas for improvement from their last tour. Seven of the players will soon be travelling to Australia to train within high performance squads and play cricket within the state-based premier cricket competitions.

These players will be exposed to an intensive training block alongside professional Australian cricketers, with access to high quality coaching and facilities. These player placements will be funded by the PacificAus Sports program- The players travelling to Australia are:  Sibona Jimmy & Hollan Doriga (Perth, Western Australia); Isabel Toua, Vicky Ara’a & Henao Thomas (Canberra, ACT) Naoani Vare & Tanya Ruma (Brisbane, Queensland)
