U19 GARAMUTS TEAM ANNOUNCED FOR THE ICC U19 MEN’S CRICKET WORLD CUP EAST ASIA PACIFIC DIVISON 2 QUALIFIERS IN SAMOA

CRICKET PNG (CPNG PNG) today announced the official team for the U19 Garamuts to participate in the ICCU19 Men’s Cricket World Cup East Aisa Pacific Division 2 Qualifier to be staged in Samoa this month.

The tournament will be held in Samoa where Papua New Guinea will play the host nation, Samoa, Vanuatu and Indonesia.

Domestic Cricket Manager, Lakani Oala said, “We believe we have selected a side that will represent us well. We are looking forward to getting back into the world cup qualifications process so Samoa is the start of that. There are some promising young players who have come through the ranks and it will be interesting to see what they bring to the table.

There are eight (8) players debuting in their first international fixture who are from various domestic cricket associations of which several were identified through the CPNG talent ID selections from basic entry level through the BSP School’s Cricket and the Malolo development programs.”

The U19 Garamuts depart for Brisbane on Saturday 27th July 2024 where they will be based for a one week training camp and practice matches before travelling into Samoa on 3rd August 2024.
